Nagi Noda

Not having constant internet access means,
that i have to find out about things a week after
they happen..

One of my favorite art directors Nagi Noda passed away on
Sunday, September 7. She was 35. Doctors say she experienced
ongoing complications related to a bad car accident last year that
resulted in chronic pain. The exact cause of death was not specified.

To me she directed some groundbreaking music videos and she
established herself as one of Japan's most prominent young designers.
She leaves behind an impressive legacy of some of the most creative
works i've seen in a long time. The very best thing about creative work
like hers is the positive unboundedness of her imagination.

"She passed away in her Mark Ryden dress, Chanel boots, perfect make-up with Viktor & Rolfe black-lace eye lashes surrounded by friends and family," Partizan US CEO/EP Sheila Stepanek said in a statement. "Beyond being a brilliant artist and wonderful talent, Nagi was one of the most incredibly unique spirits that I have known. She will be deeply missed by everyone at Partizan, not only for her creative inspiration, but also as a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."

Wherever she is right now, she's moving forward - elsewhere - and it's for the rest of us to appreciate and move into unexpected frontiers ourselves.
